A huge thank you to all our Members, Volunteers, and staff who helped make the NSW Seniors Festival Expo 2026 such a standout event. Your energy and warmth contributed to the welcoming atmosphere that was enjoyed by thousands of older people across the state.
This year’s Expo celebrated the theme Live Life in Colour, with the celebrations bringing that theme to life. In Sydney, at the International Convention Centre (ICC), a whopping 16,500 visitors attended over two days, with 232 people coming through the doors in the first 10 minutes.
With almost 100 exhibitors in the expanded Hall 3 and a steady stream of activity, the atmosphere was vibrant from start to finish. The Vinnies NSW team were thrilled to meet thousands of seniors at our stall, where many enjoyed games like spin the wheel and guess the number of lollies in the jar.
Cherie McKenna, Manager, Bequests, said, “Thousands of Vinnies information bags were given out, with many stopping to ask questions about including a gift in their Will to Vinnies. The preparation of the bags and the wonderful conversations with our older citizens would not have been possible without all our amazing volunteers.”
11,000 Seniors Card bags were snapped up by early afternoon on day two, and the event welcomed visits from NSW Premier Chris Minns and Minister for Seniors Jodie Harrison.
Beyond Sydney, celebrations in Wagga Wagga and Leeton brought communities together. Our volunteers helped seniors connect with local services, enjoy good conversation over a sausage sizzle, and learn more about getting involved with Vinnies.
The caring spirit of our volunteers made a lasting impact on the older members of our community. Thank you for helping them feel seen, appreciated and supported.
Looking ahead, planning is underway for 2027, with the theme Discover. Connect. Celebrate. Keep an eye out for the Expo Prospectus in June and early bird registrations opening in August this year.
